7. Evaluation
In this section
you need to evaluate how your final product has met the design brief by
answering the following questions.
A) How does your final product meets the brief?
My final product meets the design breif by being a suitabal garnment to wear to bed. It is colourful and suits my chosen theme "Poppy Seed ". The pajamas consist of boxer shorts and a shirt which are colourful, fun and meets the design brief by having a cotton fabric with a pattern , and the shirt uses techniques I have learnt during the semester.
B) If you were happy with the final product and e-portfolio. Why?Why not?
I am very happy with my final product as I like the design and pattern of the shorts. I enjoyed making them and I am happy with the final result. I am very happy with my e-portfolio as it was easy and fun to create the website and write about the different techniques , fabric and design of my pajamas.
C) Explain two successes and two problems that you experienced throughout the completion of this unit.
Successes - 1. I was able to finish the shorts efficiently and on time with a good result.
2. I am happy and proud of my pajamas and how I was able to learn new techniques and how to set up a sewing machine.
Problems - 1. Not being able to have purchased the materials as easily as other class mates.
2. Finding it hard to meet the guidelines for the design ideas and trying to find a final design.
D) How could I improve my theory and practical work for future projects?
Make sure to keep it simple and interesting so that it is clearly outlined of what you need to do, but it isnt plain or boring. Also to ask for help or advice on certain areas of the pajamas or e-portfolio so you can have a better understanding and knowlege of what is asked to do.
E) What have I enjoyed most about the unit?
Being able to be creative and have fun while making the pajamas. Also being able to learn new techniques and how to set up a sewing machine. Making and chooseing the theme of the pajamas and being able to enjoy the construction of the shorts and decorated t-shirt.
F) Suggest 3 pieces of useful advice to give to future students of this unit.
1. Always keep your design simple but interesting and put 100% effort into all of your work.
2. Make sure you have a clear outline fo what you are going to do, always stay on track and ask the teacher for help if you are not sure what to do.
3. Have fun and enjoy the creative and interesting unit.
